Joe,
I must admit that I come to the table with a fiction writing background, so article writing is something I'm still working on polishing. As for my brand, i'm a D-List blogger that's content to be on the D-List ;)

Casey,
Cooking by the seat of my Pants became a business very quickly, but it was a horrid error on my part not to push my brand as far as I could in the proper directions. I'm hoping that the shift in focus leads to added success for this venue as well. (So far, it's already working)

I am SO glad to hear your thoughts on this topic, as I have been trying to nudge my fellow bloggers in the same direction lately. Even if it's not about money, treating your blog like a business just makes sense. It will help set boundaries and create structure in a forum where the "wild, wild west" mentality still has a firm grip.

Good luck with the transition. I can't wait to see what comes of it!

Best,
Casey

Richard,
Thanks for pointing that out. I’ll update the post to reflect that. You really are building a HootSuite killer!

Hi Jerry, great write-up; thanks!
Just wanted to point something out tho. You said " the scheduling function of TweetDeck is only good as long as the application is open". This is actually not true.
Scheduled updates are queued on our servers and sent directly from there, so in fact you CAN close down your TweetDeck and the updates will still get sent on schedule, just like they do with HootSuite.
Cheers!

@Harsh Agrawal,
No. thanks goes to you! I never realized how many comments I failed to reply to until I installed your plugin. Now I'm working on making sure that I'm on top of all of them. If a user comments, I should answer!
