Promotional giveaway items aren’t just for corporations. Published authors often use imprinted promotional products to help promote name recognition and prompt their readers to buy that next oh-so-hot release. E-book authors also use them as tools at conventions or through their websites so that their readers have something tangible to hold in their hands, or to place between the pages of someone else’s book, and spark the thought of revisiting them to see if there is anything new offered.
These items need not be expensive or extravagant, though they can be. Anything that will help your readers remember either your name or something you’ve written is a good choice for a promo item, whether that little freebie be a pen, bag, cup, bookmark or T-Shirt with the title of your latest release, or even one that mentions the convention it was given away at (if convention rules allow it).
Though there are many places that can create these items for you, but I recommend gimmees.com for their customer service and ease of use.
Have fun promoting!
