Theme Hunting Sucks

I hate theme hunting.  I hate the time it wastes and I hate the headache I invariably have at the end of days of searching for something that fits both my mood and what i’m doing at the moment.  I like even less that I end up choosing a theme that just doesn’t work for long periods of time, or that I become o bored with that I can’t bear to look at it any longer.

If you wonder why I don’t code my own, the answer is simple.  I’m not knuckling down and building my own theme for the same reason i’m not buying a pro rig like Thesis.  This blog does not make enough of an income to warrant the expense. My time is money, I spend it even more sparingly than the green stuff and until I see some reasonable form of income generated solely by this particular little piece of Internet property, it’s not getting any more money put into it.  I’d rather stick with something free and tweak it a little if I have to.

I loved the WicketPixie theme I have installed now when I first installed it.  It served me well for a few months after that, but now I’m finding that its limitations simply don’t outweigh its shortcomings.  It works fine for Chris Perillo and Lockergnome, but it’s not fitting in with what I’m doing, so it’s time to move on to something else.

Expect the site to look extremely strange every now and then for the next few days, and thanks for your patience.

Peace. I’m out.
